The warm season in Emilia-Romagna is marked by numerous initiatives dedicated to greenery, in particular the extraordinary opening of gardens normally closed to the public.

From Piacenza and Parma to Ferrara and Bologna, here are the festivals and events to discover the hidden gardens of the art cities of Emilia-Romagna.

Piacenza | Interno Verde

When: 16 and 17 May 2026
Entrance fee: pass valid for the two days € 11 if purchased by 11 April, or € 15 on festival days; free under 13 years.

The most evocative and curious gardens in Piacenza will open their doors to the public for a special occasion during Interno Verde, the festival that, since 2023, has been promoting the architectural and botanical heritage of the city.

Many initiatives dedicated to nature are planned: snacks under the trees and guided tours, workshops for adults and children, thematic itineraries, presentations, exhibitions, installations and artistic performances.

Bologna | Diverdeinverde

When: 116 and 17 May 2026
Entrance fee: pass valid for the two days € 15; free under 15 years; reduced € 12 for Card Cultura holders; reduced € 9 for students aged 16 to 18 and university students.

As every year, Diverdeinverde is an unmissable opportunity to visit the many secret gardens hidden in the historical centre of Bologna. In this tenth edition, around forty private gardens will be open to the public, and there will also be guided tours in some unusual public parks and themed events.

Diverdeinverde is an opportunity for citizens and tourists to discover the city from a different perspective, to go off the beaten track, to enjoy surprising corners and views, to admire large specimens of trees and flowers at their peak.
