In its more than 200 kilometers all along the north Italy plains and the hills, Via Emilia Route crosses the territories of the major cities of Emilia Romagna. The great road axis created by the Romans more than 2000 years ago is still nowadays the main road of the Emilia Romagna Region and one of the most used connections.
When we travel along the Via Emilia at contemporary speeds, we are faced with a beautiful succession of Art Cities and landscapes, as if they were a “series” created by the hand of an artist: Rimini, Bologna, Parma and all the other cities of Emilia Romagna.  But just get away a moment from the marked path and take one of the many roads that go deep into the territory to find yourself in front of paradisiacal landscapes, villages and places far from the daily frenzy.
Today we bring you to know some of these villages, just the time to make you lose in the hills and the historic villages of Emilia Romagna.
5 destinations dedicated to relaxing lovers, Foodie and Italy fans no more than 25 minutes away from the Via Emilia.

SALUDECIO

This graceful village gently rests on the hills of the Conca Valley and is one of the most characteristic places of the Rimini province: art, slow rhythms and that Italian lifestyle envied abroad.
Moreover, Saludecio is one of the painted countries of Emilia Romagna and walking through its streets can really become an artistic experience, as well as visiting its territory or the nearby villages.
In the week of April 25, Saludecio hosts SalusErbe, a not to miss event dedicated to herbalism and organic food.

Torre di Oriolo

Oriolo dei Fichi is a small and charming village nestled in the vineyards located about 9 km south of Faenza, on the first hills of the Romagna Apennines where you can practice outdoor sports, long walks and enjoy the good food of Romagna.
We recommend it to all those who love landscapes at sunset, good food and of course good Italian wine.

DOZZA

There is no need of presentations for the painted country of Emilia Romagna and the location, every two years, of the Biennale d’Arte of the painted wall. Dozza is an authentic open-air masterpiece and is also the main venue of the Emilia Romagna Regional Cellar.
There is no need to add anything else to this wonderful village known all over the world.

BUSSETO

Here we are in the Parma Province, exactly in the town where the Maestro Giuseppe Verdi was born. Busseto is a small pearl set in the flat landscape of the Po Valley and its surroundings are scattered with castles and green areas.
It is an ideal destination for those who love cooking, music and the dense atmosphere that you have on spring days on the banks of the river Po.

TRAVO

This charming village in the Piacenza Province is located on the left bank of the river Trebbia, and it is suitable for all those who want to explore the amazing nature in the province of Piacenza.
The landscape of Travo territory is neatly cultivated up to the altitudes where the woods thickly cover the slopes of the mountains. The Trebbia river, with its crystal clear waters, is one of the few Italian rivers still open for taking a bath and it is surrounded with spectacular meanders of one of the most evocative valleys of the Italian Apennines.
A place suitable for all nature lovers and long hikes over the Italian mountains.
