When you visit a new city or land, Art lovers like me have already experienced that for time and economic reasons, you often have to make some cuts, selecting only some places from your list.

This is why I decided to make a list of some combined tickets or entry tickets that are available #inEmiliaRomagna, in order to enjoy at best some of the most beautiful monuments and museums of our regions, SAVING MONEY.

The Museums of Palazzo Farnese (Piacenza)

Centuries of history and culture are enshrined in an extraordinary museum itinerary with Medieval collections, antique collections, painting, sculpture and archaeological findings. The card is valid for the entry to Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese, Ricci Oddi Gallery of Modern ArtMuseums of Collegio Alberoni, Natural History Municipal MuseumKronos – Cathedral Museum.

You can visit the imposing Palazzo Della Pilotta located in the heart of the city centre of Parma and some other sites linked to the ducal authority of the Farnese family, such as the Farnese Theatre, the National Gallery of Parma, National Archaeological Museum of Parma and the Palatina Library.

The cathedral and its baptistery, the Bishop’s Palace and the annexed Diocesan Museum in the centre of Parma have been hubs of art, history and sacredness for more than 900 years. This itinerary is perfect to know better Romanesque art and its developments during the following centuries. The dome’s cupola is a compulsory stop: it was embellished with frescoes by Correggio during the first half of 16th century.

It is a tour inside/within the heart of Modena, with a special stop at the Ghirlandina bell tower and Piazza Grande, Unesco World Heritage monuments since 1997. It is a travel backwards inside the Romanesque art of the beginning of 12th century, which includes also the Cathedral Museums, Acetaia – a traditional vinegar manufacturer company – and the historical venues of the Town Hall Palace.

This itinerary finds its source/routes from the history of Comacchio: it ranges from the recently opened Ancient Delta Museum, where archaeology narrates the past of this place, to the Pickling Factory, linked to the cycle of eels and smelts processing. Last but not least, it includes contemporary art with the Museum Of Contemporary Art “Remo Brindisi”.
It is a unique itinerary: a real boat trip through the Comacchio Valleys will show you closer the magic of this extraordinary natural ecosystem.

Ravenna and its UNESCO monuments

Ravenna is famous all over the world for its early Christian and Byzantine buildings, UNESCO monuments since 1996. Inside their walls are preserved mosaics of rare beauty that prove/testify the splendour of the city between the 5th and the 6th-century b.C.
The owners of the monuments are different though, and this leads to different combined tickets

  • Neonian Baptistery, Basilica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, Basilica of San Vitale, Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, Chapel of Sant’Andrea (Unesco) + Archiepiscopal Museum
    Price: €9,,50€; concession €8,50. From 1st March to 15th June, an additional charge of 2€ is applied for the entry to the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia.
    Duration: 7 days, with one entry for each monument

    Price: 10€; concession 5€. Free admission on the first Sunday of the month
